The tremendous success and support for the Back to  School Fair is an excellent example of how our community values youth.    This year was the first year for the Salina Back to School Fair and the first  major project for the Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth initiative.    At the fair 1,100 qualifying children were provided with a backpack full  of school suppplies.  In addition to the free school supplies, the general   public was invited to take part in the free health screenings and talk to   the many youth related agencies that participated in the fair.  The  3,000 plus crowd enjoyed many forms of entertainment and we are all excited  to attend next year's fair on August 16, 2003!
