Strengthening Families, Individual Well Being
and Self-Sufficiency
Building Strong Families Through Recovery
Central Kansas Foundation (CKF) was founded in 1967 by a small group
of people concerned about alcoholism in the community. Its
mission has been to meet the substance abuse prevention and treatment needs
of the community. CKF experienced a 59% increase in admissions to
all programs last year. During 1999, 1329 sessions of therapy were
delivered.
The treatment services are effective. 80% of clients report increased
income following treatment. Also, 60% of clients report abstinence
at 6 months following treatment.
United Way funds provide financial assistance to ensure that persons
suffering from addictive diseases have an opportunity to enter and sustain
full recovery. In a letter to United Way, a client writes how CKF
has helped her live a normal and moral life. “I was taught how to
deal with everyday life and problems. I know if I ever need help
they will always be there for me.”

onto the ‘Tree of Hope’ to symbolize the hope that comes with recovery.
The tree will be planted in the Salina area. |
