Transportation: Uncertain funding and increased demand from elderly, disabled and others without their own transportation are major challenges.

Depression: The prevalence of depression is increasing; untreated, it negatively impacts employee productivity, attendance, and family life.

Housing: There is increasing demand by elderly, disabled, low-income, and new employees for scarce, small, moderately priced housing.

Underage Drinking: Permissive community and parental norms are major contributing factors.

Independent Living: Increasing numbers offrail, elderly and disabled cannot afford the services they require to remain in their homes.

Dental Access: Too many people, especially children, are not getting dental care in Saline County.

Obesity: New data shows many Saline County school age children are overweight.

Early Childhood Care/Education: The quality, affordability and availability of early childhood care and education are inadequate in Saline County.
