Debt Management Program (DMP)

When more assistance is needed, CCCS offers a Debt Management Program or DMP.  The DMP assists consumers in developing a repayment plan that is acceptable to their creditors and aids consumers in developing a budget that is livable and realistic within their available income.  Our DMPs are voluntary programs that serve the dual role of helping repay your debts and helping creditors to receive the money owed them.

DMP fees include a $25.00 set up fee and a $1.00 per account monthly maintenance fee (maximum monthly maintenance fee is $20).  The State of Kansas strictly regulates the credit counseling industry and fees.

If it is necessary to institute a DMP to help an individual or family recover from over-indebtedness, CCCS must have complete cooperation and commitment.  Our agency expects:

· Clients to be seriously interested in solving their financial problems.

· If married, both spouses need to be involved.

· A complete budget information form for confidential credit counseling should be completed.

· All forms, creditor statements, pay stubs, notifications, and other support documents should be available for the appointment.

· Clients should be on time for their appointment and should notify our office if an appointment needs to be rescheduled or canceled.

· Clients, who are enrolled in a DMP, must be dedicated to following the plan which they have developed with their counselor.  In addition, credit card accounts will be closed and now new credit can be opened.

Debt Management Programs are voluntary programs that serve the dual role of helping you repay your debts and helping creditors collect the money owed them.
